| Cross Systems Collaboration: Building Partnerships to Promote Community Living |
The Center for Disability Rights was awarded funding through the Developmental Disabilities Planning Council to conduct regional trainings for Independent Living Centers, NYS Ombudsman, Regional Resource Development Centers and the NYS office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities.
The intent of this training is to build regional and local cross systems collaboration and partnerships intended to assist people with disabilities to remain in the most integrated setting. The training curriculum includes information on the services provided by each of the targeted audiences, the Independent living philosophy, New York State community based service options, Olmstead Decision, Nursing Facility Transition and Diversion Waiver, NY connects and ideas for the development of cross systems collaboration.
