TOM REYNOLDS FOR CONGRESS
October 1, 2004

Rochester, NY 14604

Dear Chris:

"Thank you for your recent questionnaire regarding my candidacy for re -election to the United State House of Representatives.

Having served in elected office at the town, county, state and federal levels of government, I have seen many questionnaires over the years. Regrettably, I have found that on more than one occasion, the answers to the questionnaires having either been misrepresented or misconstrued: through rarely by those circulating them. Nevertheless, this has forced me to adopt a policy against responding to questionnaires.

As a member of Congress, I have a very public record on the issues. It's a record that I am proud of; as I've strived to improve the quality of life of those I serve. The trust and confidence that residents of my district have placed in me is a responsibility I take very seriously, and have worked hard to make a difference on their behalf.

You will be pleased to note, however, that I have always been supportive of legislation that benefits people with disabilities. I've supported legislation to raise awareness about Down Syndrome, voted to improve educational opportunities for children with disabilities, advocated for increased funding for Autism research, and cosponsored the Family Opportunity Act, which allows parents of severely disabled children who work to acquire healthcare for their children, among other important initiatives in support of my constituents with disabilities.

Again, my sincerest thanks for writing me, and I regret any inconvenience."

Sincerely,
Tom
