Halloween Party

Ghouls, goblins, clowns and everyone in between made their way to Brighton Town Park on Tuesday, October 25 for the CDR Halloween Party.  The evening’s fun began with the dinner menu:  Eyeballs and Intestines, Sliced Tissue, and Tossed Brains.  The dessert options were scrumptious:  Kitty Litter or Earthworm Delight.  After that delicious fare, everyone gathered at one end of the festively decorated lodge for Halloween games.  First, everyone sat in a circle around which two hollowed out pumpkins filled with oozy pumpkin brains and ‘body parts’ were passed in time with the music.  When the music stopped, whoever was left holding the pumpkins had to reach in and dig around the slime and pull out a body part to be exchanged with a treat.  Yelps and groans of “Ugh” and “Gross” could be heard as the slime extended up the arms of the lucky participants.

Eight  people volunteered for the next event:  Digging for worms out of a bowl filled with whipped cream!  Without the aid of their hands, each person had to root around in the bowl with their teeth, lips, and tongue to protract all three wiggling worms.  Amazingly, the table refilled with eight more volunteers who just couldn’t resist the opportunity!

Meanwhile, Madame Godiva entered her chambers and assumed her position behind her crystal ball.  Those who were not fearful passed by the devilish assistant, through cobwebs and into the dimly lit room.  Only those who dared enter know what truly happened that night!  May all those with good fortunes see your dreams come true….and as for the rest, well, look out!

Finally, we had the Costume Contest.  Just looking at these pictures will tell you the fun of that!  From Mr. Whoopee Cushion, to clowns, to Howdy Doody and Buffalo Bob, to “God’s gift to (men),” and that darned scary Dracula……Those people in costume really made the night!  They strutted down the catwalk , twirled and walked back to cheers from the crowd.  With prizes awarded to all and bags of candy to make it even sweeter, the menagerie of Halloween haunts ambled out into the dark and stormy night….
