Keynote Speaker
David
Kiley is one of the most accomplished athletes in disability sports.
Acknowledged as one of the greatest players in the history of wheelchair
basketball, he has excelled on a world-class level in basketball, tennis,
skiing and track. He has won two gold, one silver, and two bronze medals in
basketball during the Paralympic games.
Kiley led his team to a record eight NWBA championships. During this time he was a 19-time All-American and holds the record as a six-time NWBA Tournament MVP. He was elected to the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) Hall of Fame in 2000.
Along with his basketball medals, Dave won four gold medals in track at
the 1976 Toronto Paralympic Games and took home two gold and two
silver medals in downhill skiing at the 1992 Winter Paralympics in
Albertville, France. He has traveled the world to promote disability
sports including a trip to South Africa and to war-torn Bosnia. In 1993,
he was honored with the Magic Johnson/Jerry Buss Humanitarian Award.
Hillary
Rodham Clinton was elected United States Senator from New York on November 7,
2000. She is the only First Lady ever elected to the United States Senate.
Midway through her six-year term, Senator Clinton has been a strong advocate
for New York, working to pass legislation, secure millions in appropriations
and draw attention to issues that matter to people throughout New York State.
Senator Clinton serves on the Senate Committees for Environment and Public
Works; Health, Education, Labor and Pensions; the Senate Armed Services
Committee.
